Contains two major compositions for orchestra - the Euphonium Concerto and Symphony No. 1 ("Esperanto") for mezzo-soprano and orchestra, with original text in the international language Esperanto. The Czech Republic's Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Vít Micka, with soloists Jíři Vydra, euphonium, and Kimball Wheeler, mezzo-soprano. This recording was the first commercial release ever of a composition by an American composer for euphonium and orchestra.
